Whether your event is for 15 or 5,000 our event coordinators will guide you through every detail making sure the event will fulfill your ultimate vision combining impeccable style, innovative cuisine and endless creativity.
Since 1999 we’ve been creating memorable events across the Greater Seattle Area. We’ve built loyalty among our clients who come back again and again because Emerald Cove always has something fresh and new. The chefs here at Emerald Cove take pride in their dishes as every component is compiled from scratch with the best local ingredients. We do our part in sustaining the environment by participating in Cedar Grove Composting procedures and as a member of the Greene Scene Movement. All of our paper products are 100% compostable and made with 100% recycled paper or corn by-products.
Get to know Emerald Cove's Owner & Executive Chef Freddie Detore II
West Seattle native Chef Freddie Detore has always had a love for food thanks to the tutelage passed on from his mother and his grandmothers alike. Being an outdoorsman, avid fisherman and gardner round out the rest of his hobbies. These passions elequently integrate into his cooking style and theory of sustainability by the use of the freshest possible ingredients both land and sea have to offer.
Chef Detore has close to 25 years of restaurant experience. He started in the industry at the bottom bussing tables and washing dishes followed by years of experience in every position a kitchen has to offer. Chef Detore’s skills were honed with tenures at Palisade and as a personal chef at the world renowned Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills.
Throughout his experiences home and abroad he gained the skills essential to be a leader in this competitive industry. The vision of providing his guests with impeccable service complimented by simple yet innovative cuisine with old country roots has to come to fruition with what is now Emerald Cove Catering Co.
Meet our Head Chef Mark Guth
Seattle native Mark Guth has been practicing his craft since his freshman year of highschool, when he discovered he would forego the office life in favor of a career in the kitchen. As a teenager he got his start frying chicken and making pizza dough, then quickly moved into the world of high-end catering at McCormick and Schmick’s and Salty’s on Alki. After graduating from the Culinary Arts program at South Seattle Community College he went on to be the Sous-Chef of Twelve Basket’s Catering at age 19. Thanks to his unyielding dedication and a series of talented mentors, Mark now works as Head Chef of Emerald Cove Catering, blending elegance and simplicity with the local ingredients and unique flavors the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Also an award-winning homebrewer, his life-long passion is to master everything that touches the tastebuds; every preperation, every dish that exists (or doesn’t), any style. To be the most versatile chef out there. But that’s just the thing, says Mark, “No matter how much you know, there’s always more to learn. You can never know everything.” So the quest continues…

A key player to the success of Emerald Cove Catering Company is Lead Event Coordinator and Office Manager, Carly Stegin. Carly has worked both as a Chef in local restaurants and as an Event Coordinator/ Sales Associate for various catering companies, giving her a diverse assortment of knowledge and skills making her a significant asset to the company.
